About us

“You matter because you are you, and you matter to the end of your life. We will do all we can not only to help you die peacefully, but also to live until you die.”

-Dame Cicely Saunders, Founder of the Modern Hospice Movement

The Kensington Hospice is a 10-bed, palliative care home located in a beautiful historical building on a tree-lined street in Toronto. Our warm and inviting residence is designed to respond to the needs of each resident and their family facing life-limiting illness and bereavement.

Comfort and care at the end-of-life

We see each person who lives at the hospice as a unique individual with wishes, goals and the desire to embrace special moments with family and friends. Our aim is to provide comfort and hope, relieve suffering, and improve the quality of living and dying.

Our team of professionals and volunteers at Kensington Hospice offers pain control, symptom relief, nursing care, social work, therapies, spiritual support and nutritious meals. We maintain a close partnership with The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre at the University Health Network to provide ongoing medical care to our residents.

When a person is ill, everyone close to them is affected. We also offer families, friends and caregivers hands-on counselling and bereavement support while at the hospice.

Supported by compassionate donors

As a not-for-profit charitable organization, our care is provided at no cost to the individuals who stay at the Hospice. We depend on donations to the Kensington Health Foundation to help fund programs and services at the hospice. Make a donation to Kensington Hospice today to provide comfort and care to those in need.
