Thank you for celebrating Kensington Health Heroes

Times are tough out there, especially when it comes to philanthropy.

We’ve had to drastically pivot the way we work to inspire giving during a time of crisis. With the days of in-person tours, galas, events and in-person meetings on hold (for now), we needed to think outside the box to continue to fundraise and drive philanthropic giving to ensure ongoing access to our clinical and community care programs across Kensington.

And that’s exactly what we did.

But creating a new event is only half the battle. We needed our community to rally around our idea and join us in our journey to support Kensington and the care we provide.

And that’s exactly what you did.

Kensington Health Heroes was a live, virtual fundraising gala on June 23 hosted by comedian Carolyn Taylor (Baroness von Sketch Show, and The Great Canadian Baking Show). It was an incredible and inspiring evening, where we honoured frontline staff along with the people and community who supported them. It was a night of laughter, tears, and everything in-between as we looked back over the past eighteen months of life at Kensington.

And thanks to many of you, our sponsors and community supporters, we raised more than $213,000 in support of Kensington Health’s most critical needs - whether helping with our response to the pandemic or meeting accessible community health requirements.

Throughout the pandemic, and in the midst of unimaginable challenges, our community and neighbourhood stood with us and supported our call to action. It means the world to us.

Did you miss the show? Not to worry, you can watch it here. While you're watching, please consider donating to ensure we can continue to provide access to community care: kensingtonhealth.org/heroes

Here is a highlight reel with special thanks to our generous sponsors who helped make the evening such a success:

Thank you for your support and for giving new meaning to community care. We couldn’t do it without you.
