We're proud to announce that we will be continuing the Ophthalmic Training Program at the Kensington Vision & Research Centre.

The Ophthalmic Technician Program is a 10-month, full-time program, which provides students with the required knowledge and skills to fully integrate into an Ophthalmology practice as an Ophthalmic Technician. Students will spend the majority of their time in clinic at the Kensington Vision and Research Centre, receiving hands on training in the clinical and diagnostic units. They will also attend interactive, online seminars provided by technologists and physicians on a weekly basis.

Graduates will immediately be eligible to secure employment as an Ophthalmic Technician for an Ophthalmologist/Optometrist in private practice, for a group of Ophthalmologists/Optometrists, or for a hospital with an Ophthalmology department or clinic. Plus, graduates are also eligible to pursue the JCAHPO COT certification.

The anticipated start date is September 2023, and the program will run Monday to Friday from 8am-4pm.
