Honouring National Indigenous History Month

In June, we honour and celebrate National Indigenous History Month. A time for all Canadians to honour the diverse heritages, cultural practices, spiritual beliefs, values and achievements of First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples and communities across the country.

While it's a time for celebration, it's also a time to reflect on the work that still needs to be done.

By learning about Indigenous history, during June and beyond, we can play a role in dismantling the systematic racism, inequality, and discrimination continual faced by First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples and communities across the country.

Our goal is to continuously move the dial forward in recognizing our own blind spots and to create inclusive and safe spaces for our Indigenous residents, patients, colleagues and community members to live, receive care and work.
