Last year, Kensington Health went through a forward-thinking branding exercise that helped us better articulate who we are and what we do. It was a process of deep reflection and hundreds of conversations with community members about our work, and what drives us to do better every day.
Out of this important initiative comes the next chapter for our organization – a new, unifying brand, which includes an updated look and, more importantly, a reaffirmation of Kensington Health’s role in the lives of the people we serve. Our mantra, giving new meaning to community care, is based on our belief that there are always new ways to improve community well-being, if we have the passion and compassion to find them.
We also articulated new values of excellence, respect, teamwork and action. Then, when COVID-19 struck, we were humbled to learn that Kensington employees – from front line to administration – are already living the values every day, showing tremendous passion and dedication to the people we serve.
Like so many organizations, the COVID-19 pandemic has challenged us in ways we could not have imagined just months ago. In this issue, you will see a highlight of the tremendous ways our community has come together to protect our most vulnerable.
We want to express our deep gratitude to our frontline workers in particular for saving lives and providing critical eye care for those who needed it. Their care for residents and patients, fearless leadership, and brave dedication to their work are what holds our organization to its highest standards. Their commitment is what’s allowed us to turn our vision into a reality.

In the same spirit of coming together, our five Boards of Directors amalgamated to three to better serve diverse populations, drive innovation in healthcare and have a positive impact on our neighbouring communities. This amalgamation was a key step for Kensington's evolution in moving toward a more holistic organization.
Recently, six Board members stepped down from their roles. Together, they amassed more than 100 years of service, illustrating their deep commitment to Kensington Health and the people we serve.
