Ajiitha documents her internship experience at Kensington Health, giving you behind the scene access!

From the day of my interview to the first day of my internship, I knew I would have an amazing time at Kensington Health. Why? Because of the way I felt.  I felt included. I felt needed. I felt like I could make a difference in my own community. Everyone I pass, says hello, everyone I meet, teaches me something I didn’t know.

I’m a communications intern at Kensington for the summer of 2019. My team produces content for the website, writes the monthly newsletter for staff, creates videos, posters, magazines, brochures - you name it.

We share the stories of people at Kensington. 

Everyone made sure I knew my way around the buildings but they also showed me around Kensington market, and the best places for coffee or a bite to eat.

I was cared about in more ways than one.

My favorite part about Kensington Health is the way every department, every entity, works together. There is a true connection in the way things work around here. The maintenance team, food and nutrition, reception, residents, the chaplain, music therapy, the office dogs —Ive gotten to know everyone…they just made it so easy to get involved and truly become part of the community.

I have grown so much during my 3 months at Kensington Health.  If I could tell you one thing I’ve learned it’s that the learning never stops.
