Diversity is at the heart of who we are, because we know that building safe, inclusive, and equitable spaces in healthcare is only possible when we acknowledge and celebrate all of the aspects that make us uniquely human. It is through this person-centred lens that we have developed the organization’s first-ever Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Strategy 2025–2028. This plan is our collective promise: to listen, to learn (and unlearn), and to act so that Kensington remains a place where everyone feels a sense of belonging – whether you live at Kensington, receive care here, or are part of the special team that makes it all happen.
Over the next three years and beyond, we will focus our efforts on four areas:
Our People: building a workplace that reflects our community and nurtures belonging
Care: ensuring the people we serve receive accessible, inclusive, and culturally safe care
Organization: embedding equity and inclusion into our structures, processes, and decisions
Research: advancing health equity through inclusive, community-driven research
