No journey in life is more challenging than the one travelled by someone with a life-limiting illness. Hospice palliative care is active, compassionate end-of-life care directed at improving the quality of life for those in the last stages of an incurable disease.
Hospice palliative care supports the individual, with specialized medical knowledge, including pain management. Hospices help with the emotional, social and spiritual impact of a disease on the person and their support group. Since family and caregivers are a significant part of this end-of-life journey, day-to-day support and bereavement counseling is also a part of what hospices do.
The Kensington Hospice is committed to enhancing the knowledge and practice of Quality of Care in the Hospice community at large. In order to achieve this goal you or your family/caregivers may be ask to participate in research projects in the future.
